Wet Ones: Handy for Travel

wet ones

Since all of my children are out of diapers (YAY), I am not in the habit of keeping any wipes on hand. Now, I still need to carry them but for different reasons. To wipe their grimy little faces, hands, and whatever else they may get into whenever we don’t ahve access to a sink and soap.

Sink and soap is ALWAYS best but we are on the go often. This doesn’t allow for the luxury of a proper hand or face washing. With flu season in full bloom already, we still to keep their hands and faces clean and germs away.  Wet Ones Antibacterial Hand and Face Wipes are a easy and convenient way to keep their little hands clean.

According to Wet Ones, their Antibacterial Hand and Face Wipes are 99.99% effective in killing germs, yet are hypoallergenic and enriched with skin conditioning aloe. So even though, I no longer need to carry around a diaper bag, I like to stick a package of Wet Ones in my purse and in my van to keep on hand for those messes my kids are bound to get into!

Be sure to print out a $1.50 Wet Ones Coupon!

She Speaks in conjunction with Wet Ones sent me a sample of Wet Ones to try out in our home. All opinions and words contained in this post are 100% mine!

froot loops with fiberWe recently did an informal taste test at our house with the new Kellogg’s Froot Loops and Apple Jacks with Fiber. We compared the test of the cereals with fiber to the regular ones. Our household didn’t notice the difference! Apple Jacks has always been and still is one of my personal favorites.

Which is good, because according to a recent study, 9 0ut of 10 kids lack enough fiber in their diet. Knowing this information, Kellogg’s decided to help moms and dads out by adding a boost of fiber to two of kids’ favorite cereals - Froot Loops and Apple Jacks. These cereals now have 3 grams of fiber per serving and are available at stores.

In addition to a boost of fiber, these cereals now include whole-grain corn flour, whole grain oat flour, oat fiber, and soluble corn fiber. Kellogg’s plans to expand these ingredients and fiber boost to more cereals throughout the coming year.

Want to learn more about nutrition? Kellogg’s has a wealth of information on their Kellogg’s Nutrition site.

What do you think? Have you tried Kellogg’s added fiber cereals yet?

I wrote this review while participating in a blog tour campaign by Mom Central on behalf of Kellogg’s and received boxes of Froot Loops and Apple Jacks and a gift certificate to thank me for taking the time to participate.

I LOVE MY Ninja Master Prep for the Kitchen

by Briana on November 19, 2009 · 0 comments

Ninja Master Prep. Oh, where do I start. I love my Ninja Master Prep, oh so much.

Seriously. Before I attended the Ninja launch in September, I was burnt out of cooking from scratch. After watching Robin Miller whip up meals quickly and efficiently with the Ninja Master Prep, I was inspired to start cooking more home made meals. This is healthier and inexpensive for my family.

Many of you know I stopped eating meat back in the early spring. I haven’t missed it a bit. However, I’ve been relying on some bad food choices even without meat. So I’ve been trying to come up with some of my favorite frozen/restaurant favorites to make at home.

I love the frozen black bean burgers. However, these are costly and rarely go on sale. I found this recipe online that I decided I would try. Of course, I decided to use the Ninja to chop up the things I needed for the recipe such as the onions and black beans. I’m still developing the perfect recipe for consistency reasons but the finished product was tasty!

For my black bean burgers, I like to add guacamole as a spread/topping. So of course, I used the Ninja to make my own from scratch.

Simply peel and pit the guacamole, add the spices you desire, and pulse for a few seconds. Then viola, you have yummy homemade guacamole for a fraction of store bought prices. (I was able to get my Avocados for just $1 each and it only takes a one to two for my family at a time.)

Another thing I’ve been using the Ninja for is to grate my own cheese. It literally takes 30 seconds to shred a couple of cups of cheese. This is a money saver because I can now buy big blocks of cheese and it is healthier because the cheese isn’t processed before hand. See:

I’m finding myself relying on the Ninja for more and more. Not just for big cooking days either but for smaller items because it is so quick to use.

Basically, you just put whatever you need in either the 48 oz. Prep Pitcher or 16 oz. Master Prep Bowl, place the splash guard on the product, and then insert the Master Pod. Pulse until desired effect is achieved. It is kind of a learning process as you really don’t need to pulse very long for most foods. I’ve used it for onions, mushrooms, spinach, chicken, and even ground beef to get rid of the chunks and make it fine!

I had a small 4 cup food processor before this and rarely used it. It was just such a pain to get all the pieces out and figure out exactly how to insert everything properly. The Ninja is so much easier to use.

So far, I haven’t found anything I wouldn’t use the Ninja for. I know Robin (yes, we are on a first name basis) did mention that there is only a few reasons she wouldn’t use it and mainly if you wanted something sliced. It doesn’t slice. It really is a Ninja!

Bargain Briana Review Disclosure: I was sent a Ninja Kitchen after a sponsored trip to New York for the Ninja Kitchen Launch. All opinions contained are all my own and was not influenced by free goodies. Though, I would have never tried this had they not sent it to me so in some way I was influenced by the fact of just having it. But seriously, this is one of the greatest products ever. You can ask anyone who happens to come over while I’m cooking!

At one of my son’s cold football games this fall, I was wearing gloves yet I “needed” to use my iPhone. However, you can’t do that while wearing traditional gloves as the screens are meant to be brushed but yet I didn’t want my hands to freeze.
