Tamagotchi V5 Connection – Raise a Whole Family!

by Briana on November 15, 2008 · 7 comments

The Tamagotchi V5 is the newest virtual pet toy from Bandai. I remember when these first became popular when my oldest child was just a baby. She was too young to play but I remember my younger cousins LOVED them. Well, the kids still love them.

In this new and improved version, you can raise a whole family instead of just one character – with new characters from previous versions! How kids raise their Tamagotchi family with differing personalities, taste, and hobbies will help determine what their character grows up to be – a celebrity, model, athlete, paparazzi or a royal family! You can link to other users with its infrared technology. Users also have online access to TamaTown. My children also enjoyed playing the games on the CD included with the Tamagotchi V5.

To get started, you name your family who starts as eggs. After they hatch, you feed them, clean them, play with, entertain, help to meet friends, and MORE! When your family needs something, it beeps to let you know! (ha, ha, just like in real life!

They recommend this for children Ages 8 and up. My 4 year old enjoyed it with help from me. It is small enough to fit in your pocket so you always can have it when your pet needs to be fed! They retail for around $14.99.

One lucky reader will win their very own Tamagotchi V5 Connection. Go HERE for details on how to enter. Giveaway Ends 11/23.

Wow. I remember these things from when I was a kid…but it was never so advanced. I had a puppy and a dinosaur (who would die every 5 days). I can’t believe now they’re making ones where you can raise entire families!

Talk about memories. The review was great and informative, I may just have to get another for one of the girls.

I can’t help but wonder how I am going to explain the biological implications of an entire family hatching from a single egg to my youngest, who has recently learned the facts of life. Other than that, sounds like the perfect gift!
Thanks for the in-depth review, I’ll definitely be looking into these.

Thanks for the review. It sounds like adults might enjoy the tamagotchi too. LOL. My daughter would absolutely love this, she has one of the older versions but I’m sure would be thrilled with the opportunity to raise an entire family.

I also remember the original Tamagotchis! These new ones sound like a lot more fun. I like that the child gets to raise a whole family of them and that determines what their role in life becomes. The “parent” can see the fruits of their labor!
Great review! Thanks, Cindi
