Fall is my favorite season, school is back in swing, football starts again, and new shows premiere on television. Before I started blogging, I devoted more time to watching all the new shows. Now that I have less “spare” time, I have to be picky on the shows I watch. I have three shows that you will want to watch or make sure to DVR.
Recently, I was sent a DVD due to my relationship with the Role Mommy network, with the premiere of Medium and two new CBS shows The Good Wife, and Accidentially on Purpose. Three completely different types of shows but all worth watching.
Premieres: Friday, Saturday, 27 at 10:00 ET/PT
Medium, in its sixth season, is a show I can’t believe I’ve never watched. I’m sure when it premiered that it conflicted with other shows I was into at the time because it is my type of show. It is a drama inspired by a real life story of a research medium, Allison Dubois, who struggles to make sense of her dreams and visions of dead people. Allison, played by Patricia Arquette, works as a consultant with the Assistant District Attorney by using her psychic abilities to help solve crimes.
For those of you who watch this show on a regular basis, I’m sure you will love the premiere episode. For those who have never watched the show, you can jump right in this season and not feel like you are way behind on the series.
The Good Wife
Premieres: Tuesday, Sept. 22 10:00 ET/PT
You will want to tune into this new show, The Good Wife, to watch Julia Margulies as Alicia Florrick, assume responsibility for her family after her husband, Peter played by Chris Noth, is imprisoned after a political scandal. Alicia, like many mothers who have postponed their own careers for their families, re-enters the work forces as a junior associate at a prestigious law firm where she must proved herself.
Not only is Julia Margulies and Chris Noth excellent reasons to watch this show, they are joined by Archie Panjabi, who plays ally to Alicia and investigator for the law firm. As the season progresses, we will surely watch Alicia trade in her life as the “good wife” and discover her own identity. I was completely enthralled by this show and can’t wait for more episodes.
Accidentially on Purpose
Premieres: Monday, Sept. 21 8:30pm ET/PT
Jenna Elfman (Billie) has always been one of my favorite comedic women and she proves no different in this comedy. She stars in Accidentially on Purpose as a film critic who gets pregnant after a one-night stand with a much younger man, Zach. After a break up with her long time boyfriend, former Melrose Star Grant Show, because he doesn’t want to marry, Billie decides to have a little fun on a night out. She “accidentially” gets pregnant and when she tells him, I was moved by his sweet response. Looks like this one is going to be a romantic comedy!
I will be setting my DVR for all of these shows this year!
