Ice Cream Review: Häagen-Dazs five

center_image_03192009223007Thanks to She Speaks, we were able to try out the Häagen-Dazs five ice cream. We never turn down ice cream around here so this was a fun treat! The Five Series is a premium ice cream which offers pure, clean flavors with only five natural ingredients – hence the name five.

Our favorite flavors were Milk Chocolate and Vanilla Bean. We thought the Coffee was a little overwhelming but we aren’t big coffee drinkers so if you like coffee you will enjoy this one. Brown Sugar had a funny after taste to me, though this was the kid’s favorite flavor.

While they boast to have less fat than other brands, for just a half cup of ice cream there is around 220 calories and 11 grams of fat. A half of cup of ice cream is really not that much so if you are eating a bowl, watch out because you will be consuming quite a few calories!

Häagen-Dazs Five Ice cream shipped to us!

The Five Series includes: Brown Sugar, Coffee, Ginger, Milk Chocolate, Mint, Passion Fruit, and Vanilla Bean. Examples of the 5 ingredients for the coffee flavor are: skim milk, cream, sugar, egg yolks, and coffee.

If you are into unusual flavors of ice cream, you will enjoy some of the different varieties Häagen-Dazs five offers such as Ginger, Coffee, and Brown Sugar. If you are like me and want to stick to the beaten path, stick with Vanilla Bean or Chocolate.

Have you tried these? What do you think?
